I am a queer, female hobby entomologist who has developed a deep passion for Coleoptera. I even create ceramics inspired by beetles under the name “Slipping Scarab.” I lead the Entomological Youth Group of the Natural Science Association at the Naturkundemuseum here in Karlsruhe, Germany. Through keynotes, workshops, and field excursions, I show young people how to work with insects in scientific and responsible ways, and how much there is to discover. I also organize guest lectures with professional entomologists.

Additionally, I do environmental education focused on insects through my Instagram @siebenkaefer and organize insect-related field excursions that are open to the wider public. I also participate in Citizen Science projects.

My knowledge comes from recognized training courses, expert-led workshops, self-study, and extensive fieldwork. Over the past years, I have invested significant time, effort, and money into developing good species identification skills and a solid understanding of scientific and ethical entomological practice. Building connections with experienced entomologists has always been an important part of my learning, and I believe networking and sharing knowledge are essential for making science more accessible. I strongly believe we need more young people and more women in entomology, and I am passionate about making the field more welcoming, connected, and accessible.
