From a young age I’ve wanted to work with nature in some way, and naturally a love of digging up mud to look for stones or fossils as a child turned into a love of all of the strange little things crawling about in and around the soil. After a detour into the world of BTECs post-secondary school, and realising that I didn’t actually want to be a zookeeper, I eventually went on to read zoology at the University of Sussex as a first-generation student. While there my interest in insects was confirmed further, and working with honey bees led to my current position as a PhD student at UCL studying the ecology and evolution of solitary wasps. 

Outside of entomology, I’m a big music fan of several genres, and spend a lot of my time going to gigs, reading books or comics, and playing either guitar or video games.
