I am a lecturer in Medical Entomology and Vector Control at Ahfad University for Women and a researcher at the Leishmaniasis Research Laboratory, University of Khartoum. With over 18 years of university-level teaching experience and a Master’s degree in Medical Entomology, my academic work centers on the ecology and behaviour of Phlebotomus sandflies and their role in Leishmania transmission.

My research interests include vector ecology, mosquito surveillance, and the ecological determinants of vectorial capacity. I am deeply engaged in training students in entomological fieldwork, insect collection, and identification, while also mentoring postgraduate research projects.

Beyond the laboratory, I am passionate about making entomology accessible and engaging, fostering awareness of vector-borne diseases, and exploring the intersections of science, education, and community health. I see entomology as a lifelong journey of curiosity and discovery, enriched by collaboration and diverse perspectives.
