I study the behavior and ecology of native solitary and social bees, exotic honey bee and pollination ecology of crops grown in the Semi-Arid environments of India. The purpose of my study is to develop conservation strategies for the bee pollinators for sustainable pollination services that should become an example to emulate worldwide. I have decided methods of domiciling and conservation of some solitary bees like Megachile nana, Megachile flavipes, Megachile cephalotes and Megachile lanata, and also Xylocopa fenestrata. Likewise, I have developed methods of domestication and conservation of wild Honey Bees Apis dorsata and Apis florea. Based on their pollination efficiency, I have also studied the relative importance of these bees for several crops grown in my region. I am still continuing to pursue my research on these subjects.
