She/They

I am an arachnologist, behavioural ecologist, and natural historian who considers myself an entomologist (my ‘home’ professional society is the Entomological Society of Canada, since we don’t have an arachnological society here). My research has primarily been focused on the sexual and foraging behaviour of black widow spiders, candy-striped spiders, and their relatives (family Theridiidae). After about 6 years of postdoctoral work, I recently took a job in research administration, which is a lot more fun than it sounds! My hobbies include knitting and sewing, hiking and dog sports with my dogs (that’s Zora in the photo), reading scifi and fantasy, and recreational spidering with my partner.
